Signs and symptoms of Diabetes Mellitus
Diabetes Mellitus or commonly called diabetes is a disease due to metabolic disorders that are chronic or long time. The main sign of diabetes mellitus is the high levels of sugar in the blood.
There are three common types of diabetes mellitus were identified, namely:
Type I
Namely diabetes mellitus is caused by a lack of the hormone insulin that is produced by the pancreatic organ.
When we eat, food is processed by the body into glucose, glucose is a source of energy for the body's cells, so glucose can be absorbed by the body cells, the body's cells need insulin. If less insulin, the glucose circulating in the body is little that can be absorbed by the body cells.
Type II
Namely diabetes mellitus caused by the failure of the body's cells in collaboration with the hormone insulin to absorb glucose. If less insulin type I, type II insulin that quite a lot but failed to cooperate with the body's cells.
Gestational diabetes
Namely diabetes experienced by pregnant women. This woman before pregnancy condition of blood sugar in the normal size, but when pregnant her blood sugar to rise. Usually after delivery, blood sugar back to normal.
The failure of the body's cells to absorb glucose in the blood causing high blood sugar levels. The failure of the body's cells to absorb glucose also causes the body's cells starve, so it sends hunger signals.
So one of the signs of diabetes mellitus is hunger is high. Other signs are frequent urination and frequent thirst.
Further result is fatigue on the body, because the body lacks energy.
